Drug Raids

POLICE have seized more than $120,000 worth of drugs and charged 14 people in a series of organised crime raids in Albany this week. 

 
Police from the Organised Crime Squad and detectives from the Great Southern District searched 17 houses near Albany and Denmark between Monday and Thursday.
They seized $122,500 worth of drugs, including 25 cannabis plants valued at $62,500, 60 grams of methamphetamine valued at $36,000, 28 grams of synthetic methamphetamine valued at $16,000 and 681 grams of cannabis valued at $8000.
They also claim to have seized $6220 worth of cash and about $9500 worth of equipment, including ammunition, a hydroponic setup and prohibited weapons like a large tri-blade knife, taser torch and explosives.

Boy saved

EMERGENCY services have rescued a teenager who was trapped between rocks in the state’s Great Southern yesterday.

About 1.45pm on Sunday police were called regarding a person trapped between two large rocks at Monkey Rock near Denmark.
Denmark Police, St John Ambulance and State Emergency Service volunteers went to the scene.
There, they found a 14-year-old boy stuck between rocks and with what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder.
The SES volunteers freed the teen by lifting him to the top of the rocks.
He was taken to Denmark Hospital by St John Ambulance for a check-up.

Perth man found dead.

MAJOR Crime detectives are investigating after a 35-year-old man was found dead inside his Beechboro home yesterday.

 
Police and St John Ambulance paramedics were called to the King Road address yesterday afternoon after a friend of the dead man called triple zero after finding him unresponsive.
The attending officers confirmed the man was dead, a WA Police spokesman said.
Forensic officers will remain at the scene today, conducting an examination of the property.

Major Crime detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a 51-year-old man, near Bunbury, at the weekend.
